Fans are currently getting their first official glimpse of The Witcher 4 courtesy of the State of Unreal 2025 Official 4K Livestream.
The fourth Witcher instalment, The Witcher 4, is being built using Unreal Engine 5 and we can safely see that that was the best possible decision as the game already looks absolutely incredible.
Taking place at the Unreal Fest Orlando, the showcase gives us a glimpse at some brand-new gameplay from The Witcher 4 - courtesy of a tech demo - and it is already clear that the CD Projekt RED RPG has come a long way since the announcement trailer dropped last year.

Viewers get to see our new protagonist Ciri and her brand-new look as well as some of the key locations that she will explore on her journey.
Of course, as a tech demo, this content has not been lifted from the game. It's instead an example of the type of things we could see in the final release.
You can view the full demo below.
We can see the stunning mountains with their snowy peaks, the lush forests that Ciri and her horse Kelpie can ride through at will and even a nearby fishing town where our Witcher can accept contracts.

This village in question is more dynamic than ever and NPCs play as much of a part in the story as the main characters.
They will react to your actions, converse with each other and show so much in the background despite many of us probably not even noticing when The Witcher 4 is released.
Events will also take place across these towns, such as arguments between fishermen and even the occasional circus.
Despite the circus bringing large crowds, the developers have really worked on optimisation and players won’t run into lag that is often prevalent when a lot of assets are present in certain locations.

Of course, we also get our first glimpse of a monster as Ciri locates her prey flying through the mountainous skies.
With The Witcher 4 still being quite a way from release, it is already clear that this instalment will blow previous ones out of the water and I, for one, cannot wait.
