CD Projekt RED is beavering away on two things, officially anyway.
One team is putting together Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming 2.3 Update which actually just got delayed, although I’m sure that’ll all be for the better.
Then, a much larger team will be working on the upcoming The Witcher 4 which received an impressive tech demo at the recent State of Unreal showcase.

While this ‘gameplay’ footage isn’t lifted directly from the game, it did certainly give us an idea of the scale of detail that we should expect in The Witcher 4; I certainly came away impressed.
Elsewhere though, it’s believed that one more team might be working in partnership with Fool’s Theory on a The Witcher 3 expansion in secret.
Yes, it’s rumoured that The Witcher 3 may be getting one more expansion in 2026.
Now, I don’t think this will be on the scale of, say, Blood and Wine but there’s practically no additional details to confirm or deny that theory.

According to Polish podcasters Rock and Boris, the DLC will land next year - and it’s widely assumed to be intended simply to bridge the gap between The Witcher 3 and 4.
On paper, the release of such a DLC makes a lot of sense, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s real.
Just because something is sensical, it’s not tangible until proof is shown.
Even still, that hasn’t stopped fans from boarding the hype train.

“Could very well be a prologue to Witcher 4 if true. A Ciri DLC about how she ends up going to Kovir for the next entry,” wrote Reddit user Vidya-Man.
“That’s a nice surprise,” added DEDE1973.
“Yay more Gwent (Fingers crossed),” said a hopeful Sakura_Hirose.
“I'd love it to explain how Ciri ends up as a Witcher in the non Witcher endings,” Calgrave commented, making a good point.

Of course, I do have to urge you to take all of this with a hefty pinch of salt until CD Projekt RED offers any confirmation regarding the DLC.
That being said, there’s no harm in getting our hopes up … right?
