An apocalyptic wasteland isn’t exactly a cosy place to live, however, many of the game mechanics we’d find in the cosy genre are appearing in more and more game, even if the setting doesn’t align.
Wasteland Travelers seems to combine the resource gathering and village creation of the likes of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, but has the harsh vibes of Fallout throughout.
Wasteland Travelers feels like a Fallout throwback
Seems like an odd combination, right? Though it seems to work here, giving players full control over a small camp of survivors, mixed in with the scavenging and exploration found within a Fallout game.

Players can download a free demo of the game via Steam, and if you’re looking for something a little different, this might just scratch that itch.
Played with a top-down view, and lush pixel graphics, Wasteland Travelers sees you exploring, fighting, and surviving in the wake of a zombie-fuelled disaster.
With a wealth of quests to complete, factions to meet, and weapons to wield, your journey is going to be one fraught with danger.
The weapon system seems to have a lot of depth, pulling from games like Escape From Tarkov, in being able to build out every facet of your guns.

According to the developers, “In the world of Wasteland Travelers, merely surviving is challenging. You must be prepared to face the lack of supplies, severe weathers, radiations and infections. You also need to fend off crazed zombies, hostile robots, and enemy factions' pursuit.”
Can you see a bit of Stardew Valley in there? Perhaps in the pixel art visuals. However, the inspiration from games like Fallout, or the more recent Atomfall, are easy to see in this apocalyptic vision.
There’s no firm release date set for this one, but if you enjoy the demo, it’s worth adding the game to your wishlist so you can keep up with development.
