Based on Celtic folklore, this new RPG seems to be leaning into several inspirations, including the gorgeous history of Final Fantasy.
It doesn’t take much to please RPG players, especially if you’re offering something as beautiful as Forge of the Fae.
Evoking memories of old school Final Fantasy on the SNES, and early days of PlayStation, this new RPG will wow long-time fans of the genre.
Over on Steam, you can try out the game for free, with a new demo that will allow players to experience a slice of the game before it’s released.

If the stunning screenshots don’t pull you in, then the fairy tale aesthetic, much like we saw in the early days of The Legend of Zelda, will definitely grab you by the shirt.
Set as a dive into Celtic folklore, dangerous Fae are roaming the world and must be stopped using the delightful inventions of central character Fiora.
Pitched as “full of intrigue, adventure, and endless possibilities,” the story evolves as you play and make vital decisions among the cast of rich characters.
Forge of the Fae seems to combine technology with its fantasy setting, particularly in the battle system.

As described by the developer, Datadyne LLC, players will “Upgrade your trusty Mechanical Faerie and use the innovative Crystal System to channel powerful magic from the world of the Fae. With every battle and challenge, you'll become stronger and more adept at navigating this fascinating world.”
It certainly sounds unique, with some nice twists in the battle system, and a fresh take on the world-building.
Usually, RPGs tend to focus on Eastern legend, or Norse mythology, so it’s nice to see something different on the horizon.
There’s no release date planned, as yet, but you can be sure that the developer will update the Steam page when the news is ready to drop.
