Free RPG Demo Is The Skyrim and Zelda Crossover PC Gamers Deserve

You can never have too many RPGs on the go, right?

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a colossal success, so it’s no real surprise that it’s inspired various video game projects in the years since its launch.

It’s with that in mind that I think I may have stumbled across one.

Developed by Spellcast Studios, Ardenfall is an upcoming RPG that should most definitely appeal to fans of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

The open-world title shares a visual likeness, and the promise of exploring “flowing plains, rain drenched wetlands, and forgotten dungeons” surely sells the experience.

“The Isle of Ardenfall is a diverse landscape of windy plains, flooded wetlands, ancient ruins, and winding caves,” the synopsis begins.

“As you explore the compact open world and deep dark dungeons you will discover countless secrets, dangerous monsters, and interesting characters.”

It’s not the most expansive synopsis but hey, I’m always up for a promising RPG that offers all of the usual fare I hope to find.

There’s also a bit of a Skyrim or classic Elder Scrolls feeling at play here.

Players will complete quests which will alter their relationships with various factions; who you side with will determine the outcome of Ardenfall’s world.

“Economics of regions will shift at the swing of your blade, and the citizens will remember your decisions,” devs tease.

If you want to see more from GAMINGbible, make us a preferred source on Google.

You’ll be able to craft your character, selecting both their appearance and traits, before you venture out into the world.

As for combat, that’s yours to mould too. A thief, for example, “may toss a potion of silence on their targets to ensure a clean kill”, while a mage is more likely to “spawn a great beast to do their bidding”.

During your travels, players will encounter various NPCs all of whom, I’m sure, will attempt to distract you from your goals with side quests.

In fact, devs have revealed that building bonds with various NPCs will unlock “new paths in your journey”.

However, sometimes unlocking a new path may require charm or deception. Intriguing.

Ardenfall remains without a release date for now. It’s simply scheduled to launch on PC in 2026.

You can check out a free demo now though.

That demo will allow you to explore an entire region, featuring a taster of the game’s combat.

In fact, there’s great replayability as the demo’s quest reportedly features a whopping five possible endings.

Plus, there’s “tons of secrets hidden across the demo”. That’s one way to keep players engaged.

Ardenfall is shaping up nicely so if you’re into Breath of the Wild or Skyrim, it may be to give a go. If you enjoy what you play, I’m sure the indie devs would appreciate you wishlisting the title.
