What would you get if you crossed The Legend of Zelda with Hades?

Well, it seems as though we have the answer in the form of Sephiria, a top-down action rogue-lite complete in a pixel art style.

Combining the exploration and iconic art style of The Legend of Zelda with the rogue-lite elements of Hades, Sephiria is one of 2025’s underrated gems and right now, you can try it out for absolutely free.

Developed by TEAM HORAY, this RPG has simple instructions: go down the tower, meet various animals, and collect various talismans and artefacts to become stronger.

However, Sephiria offers so much more.

Players will take on the role of a rabbit in the village at the top of the tower. However, they will soon learn that it is their fate to prevent the destruction of their home.

With fast and intuitive controls, players must fend off multiple enemies and become stronger by finding artifacts that offer special attacks and defences.

As you make your way to the bottom of the tower, you will stumble across other animals who are in need of your help and it will be up to you to talk to them, ask for favours and even trade. Whether they will become allies or enemies is completely up to you.

With cute pixel graphics to boot, Sephiria has managed to rack up a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam with some players even calling it the “best game” they’ve ever played.

A fellow positive review reads as follows:

“You won't regret your purchase if you like action roguelikes.

This game has a ton of items in it and multiple builds to accommodate any playstyle and even costumes you can unlock that tweak how you play with stat changes, fixed stats and my personal favourite infinite MP.

However, max health is stuck to 20 (aka really low as enemies can hit for that much later on), even after getting everything 100%'d I’m still playing more because this game is just pure fun.”

As mentioned, Sephiria is now free to try out courtesy of Steam so don’t miss out on this underrated 2025 gem.
