Steam drops exclusive freebie you've just 5 days to claim

Claim this freebie ASAP

You can claim an exclusive free Steam download today, but you only have five days to make it yours, so you might want to act sooner rather than later.

We always appreciate a good freebie when it comes to our beloved hobby of playing video games. Well, unless it’s a game like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which even when given away for free, I’d still somehow feel ripped off.

That being said, as great as it is to receive free games however they may come our way, sometimes it’s nice to make our video game profiles look nice and snazzy, to stand out a little from the crowd.

Recently, free profile icons dropped for Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima, in celebration of the game's fifth anniversary, and the artwork used is gorgeous.

What’s more, there are always tons of profile icons to claim for the Nintendo Switch, inspired by many instantly recognisable franchises such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing and much more.

However, with this Steam freebie, while it’s not based on any video game, I must say, it does look snazzy, to say the least. It also gives me Tesseract vibes, if the Tesseract were yellow and not blue, but hopefully, you get my point.

The freebie in question is an animated profile background called ‘Cyber Core’ that can be applied to your Steam profile. Typically, we often see animated profile picture icons on Steam, so this is a nice change of scenery.

To claim the animated profile background, simply log into your Steam account and click download to make it yours. You don’t even need to spend Steam’s free currency reward points to claim.

I’ve claimed it and it looks awesome. But a word of warning, this animated profile background isn't available forever. It disappears in just five days, so claim it now to avoid the disappointment of missing out.
