Steam makes $30 game free to keep, but you've only one day to claim

Steam, the online store for PC games and the one place that often has a bevy of free games to claim has a big one today. However, you’ll have to be very fast.

Usually, free games on the platform are available for a few days, sometimes over a week, but this one will only be free for 24 hours.

Islands of Insight is a puzzle game set within a gorgeous open world. It boasts over 10,000+ puzzles across 24 puzzle types from block moving to aligning beams of light to create shapes.

Interestingly, this puzzle behemoth was only released this year and is usually worth over £30, it’s also got plenty of positive ratings on Steam.

So why is it free?

Well, because the developers have released an offline mode and wanted to celebrate. Usually, Islands of Insight is a massively multiplayer game featuring other players wandering around, but this new mode gives you the entire world all to yourself.

That’s quite the way to celebrate your game but hey, we’re not complaining. It’s another great free game to add to the collection.

One of the only downsides to this offer is that the game doesn’t run on Steam Deck, which is becoming one of the more popular ways to play through that Steam backlog.

However, games are constantly being updated, so it could be added to the Verified list at any point. For now, you’ll have to make do with playing this puzzle adventure on your PC.
