GTA 6's Map Is So Much Bigger Than Any of Us Imagined

Be patient

GTA 6’s map might just be so much bigger than we ever thought, as fans have been urged to temper their expectations regarding what’s been revealed so far.

We’re still just over 9 months away from the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, and we still have very little information to go off regarding specific details about the game.

Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed the map yet, so we don’t know the exact size or locations that will be seen in the game.

However, GTA 6 fans have been warned to keep their expectations in check. With plenty of rumours and leaks happening seemingly every week, it’s worth remembering what exactly Rockstar has shown off so far, and what it hasn’t.

One user on the GTA 6 Reddit page has posted an image of the GTA 6 mapping project, an initiative by fans to map out the game’s world using trailer footage, screenshots, and other bits of material.

“Since people don’t really understand the mapping project, here’s an actual accurate representation of known and unknown info,” they wrote in a new post, explaining that a lot of the map hasn’t actually been seen yet.

The image shared has only revealed a small portion of the map in the Vice City area, and that there are huge chunks of the map that have been completely blocked out, as we haven’t seen any part of it at all in trailers.

This indicates that, actually, we actually have a lot more to see as Rockstar releases new footage and information about the game. It’ll be a sight for sore eyes once we get that alleged Trailer 3.

“And I remember people saying it was gonna be the entire USA, thank god,” writes one fan in the comments section underneath the post.

“Thanks for this,” another writes. “I had an argument with someone not understanding that most of the road lines we see are what’s confirmed from leaks, trailers, and screenshots provided by Rockstar.”

GTA 6 is set to release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on 26th May, 2026.

While a third trailer hasn't been confirmed yet, it's assumed that another selection of footage should drop at some point prior to launch.
