Racing car games have never been so back, with Forza Horizon 6 launching an early campaign to be a Game of the Year contender in the wake of Grand Theft Auto's next instalment.
Justifying spending $70 on Forza Horizon 6 has been difficult for a lot of people, though, knowing that GTA 6 is revving its engine just around the corner.
Boasting an expected and unprecedented $100 fee, the inevitable monster that is GTA will undoubtedly be a top pick for almost any gamer, leaving wallets lighter than ever before (it's in the name to steal, huh).
So instead of splashing even further into the murky depths of your bank, this free-to-keep Steam racer has come at the perfect time.
With Forza Horizon 6 currently being run amok by the famed aggressor Bowie Knife99, the game has done exceptionally well in reviving this lost genre.

Yet unless you're a Game Pass enjoyer, free alternatives might be your best bet to enjoying some bumper-to-bumper action - and this is where Drift86 comes in.
Almost uncannily released on November 19 (a big date this year...), 2019, Drift86 is by no means a new game, but it is a trunk-load of fun.
With thousands of positive reviews on Steam, the Hot Wheels-esque racing simulator is a slippery, arcade take on Tokyo Drift, with hot JDM cars excelling at burnouts and long handbrake turns, enjoyed online or in single player.
Setting personal best lap times or beating opponents on Steam, the game has 30 courses to choose from, serving as an entertaining blend of unrealistic full-throttle racing and a chaotic, grinding sim pandering to that 'one more race' urge.
Now, thanks to the Steam free-to-keep system, if you download Drift86 before June 3, it's yours to have until the day that GTA 6 opens its lawless doors.

Typically, Drift86 only costs $2 to keep anyway, so it won't break the bank if you miss the window and still serves as a cheap alternative to Forza Horizon 6.
But for free, who can complain about that?
Steam isn't messing about with its freebie collection this weekend, with the chaotic evil of Drift86 being complemented by a range of chill titles that will ooze tranquility.
From the friendship-forging Deer and Boy cinematic platformer to the Habbo-inspired cat cafe simulator Calico, there's enough serotonin to carry you through the weekend like you're surfing on a cloud.
