If you were to cross Bloodborne with The Legend of Zelda and Clint Eastwood, you’d probably get something similar to the game featured in this story.

In some ways, Bloodborne reminds me a bit of a Wild West story, horrific monsters aside, of course. You’re a stranger who’s wandered into a hostile town to restore order.

Sure, that’s a very loose connection, but hopefully, you understand what I’m trying to get at. Regardless, there’s no question that Bloodborne is one of the best games on PlayStation, which is why fans are desperate for FromSoftware to release a sequel.

There seems to be no indication that we’re getting Bloodborne 2 anytime soon, at least something that holds genuine validity. Heck, it looks like we won't even get a PS5 upgrade for the 2015 game, let alone the highly-requested PC port.

I suppose the only real comfort we have when it comes to the unlikely event of Bloodborne 2 gracing us with its presence is that the original game is a timeless classic that we can never get enough of.

That being said, if you’re desperate for any kind of Bloodborne fix and you’re a fan of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series, then this upcoming indie game might be your cup of tea.

The game in question is Tombwater, developed by Moth Atlas. Judging by its gameplay trailer, it most certainly has Bloodborne vibes with its location looking very Yarnham-inspired, but is presented in charming 8-bit visuals, which is a callback to the classic Zelda games.

“A Souls-Like Western. Explore the accursed Wild West town of Tombwater and lay bare the eldritch horrors that lie beneath,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

“Survive blood-spilling combat in this gruesome 2D action-RPG that might just drive you to madness.”

Tombwater does not have a release date at the time of writing, but you can check out the game right now by downloading its free playable demo via Steam.

You can also add Tombwater to your Steam wishlist to be notified of any updates.
