This game is dark (in a good way)

Fans of dark and gritty horrors such as Bloodborne and Resident Evil need to check out this free Steam download today.

I can’t think of much better gothic worlds than Yarnham of Bloodborne. The moment you’re thrown into this world, wonderfully crafted by FromSoftware, you know you’re in for an experience from the get-go.

Yarnham and its surrounding areas are eerie enough even without its horrific creatures, but when you throw in its enchanting ambience and soundtrack, sublime combat, bosses and NPCs, you have an instant classic.

Then we have Resident Evil, Capcom’s beloved survival horror franchise that helped to revolutionise the genre and has inspired a plethora of games for generations.

Well-told stories of mega corporation corruption, challenging and at times, high-octane combat and charismatic characters, it’s no wonder that Resident Evil is still going strong today.

If Bloodborne and Resident Evil are your cup of tea, then the new horror game Total Chaos, developed by Trigger Happy Interactive, is perhaps worth putting on your radar.

“Descend into Total Chaos, a gripping terrormare that blurs the line between reality and madness,” reads the synopsis on Steam.

“Once a bustling haven for coal miners, Fort Oasis is now a crumbling wasteland, its eerie silence broken only by a cryptic radio transmission beckoning you toward the island’s heart—the forsaken mines. But as you delve deeper into the island’s desolation, the path forward becomes twisted and uncertain, unravelling unsettling truths hidden in the encroaching darkness.”

Out of all the Resident Evil games, Total Chaos reminds me more of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard with its world looking like it's also infested by the Molded.

Total Chaos does not have a confirmed release date at the time of writing, other than it potentially arriving towards the end of this year or early next.

You can, however, not only add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified of any updates, but you can also download and play its free demo right now.
