A new update for Starfield adds some new content to the game, as well as some much needed changes and additions to player settings.

Starfield has presumably been put on the backburner by Bethesda as the developer pours almost all of its focus into crafting The Elder Scrolls VI, and fans are expecting some big changes compared to the previous game, Skyrim. However that doesn’t mean Starfield is being ditched entirely, as several updates and content drops are in the works.

Take a look at Starfield below

Planned content includes an official story expansion titled Shattered Space, in-game mod support via Creation Club 2.0, as well as other additions and features for players to mess around with whilst exploring the galaxy.

More minor updates are also in the works, like one that dropped the other day for Steam players. It’s currently a beta-update, meaning things could be changed or tweaked before it’s officially rolled out for all users. The update adds new gestures and facial expressions for your character, perfect for those long photoshoots on picturesque planets, in addition to a field-of-view (FOV) slider for when you’re flying your custom-starship. It also makes some minor changes to the game’s framerate.

They’re little additions, but all make a big difference when you put them together, and there’s plenty more where they came from.

Unfortunately it might not be enough to keep players interested in the long haul. Starfield’s player count has steadily declined since its release, no doubt helped by the slow pace development updates have adopted. Many players have stated Starfield simply doesn’t have the staying-power that other Bethesda games like Skyrim had, which has more players than Starfield on Steam.

Nevertheless fans that stuck with the game have a lot to look forward to, and hopefully when the first major expansion, Shattered Space, drops it’ll bring back old players as well as encourage new ones to take their first small step into space.
