GTA VI fans are driving themselves mad thinking of everything that could be in the game, and some think the combat from Red Dead Redemption 2 would be a no-brainer addition.

Ever since Rockstar Games dropped that first trailer I think just about everyone who’s into gaming has been desperate to see more. GTA VI looks massive in comparison to GTA V, with the open world believed to be the size of an entire US state.

The game also looks like it’ll retain the classic Grand Theft Auto humour we’ve been accustomed to over the years, especially with the appearance of crazy characters like the Florida Joker and of course, “hammer lady.”

That being said, some fans believe GTA VI needs to bring back some of Red Dead Redemption 2’s best features if it wants to call itself the better game, one of them being the hand to hand combat.

Reddit user and Grand Theft Auto fan blondedaf said they’re hoping to see the combat mechanic return, saying “it felt so natural and real.” They went on to say Rockstar should include different fighting styles for Lucia and Jason to learn, as well as bring back gyms and areas to train like in GTA: San Andreas.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s combat was a huge step up from GTA V, which simply had the player’s character throwing wild haymakers that usually ended a fight quickly. In Red Dead Redemption 2 you could throw some crazy combos as well as use pieces of the environment for extra damage, like throwing people out of windows.

Other GTA fans couldn’t agree more, with one suggesting the idea of an “underground fight club,” which sounds like a great piece of side content.

Someone else praised Red Dead Redemption 2’s combat, saying it was “such a step up from past Rockstar games, it's unbelievable.”

Finally one player said a decent fighting system would be a great inclusion, simply because it’d give players a “reason to use hand to hand combat.”

Whether Rockstar plans to include Red Dead Redemption 2’s combat is another question, though we might get our answer when it drops GTA VI’s second trailer.
