Red Dead Redemption fans on PS5 are upset at a feature seemingly omitted from the remaster, despite Rockstar advertising it on the store page.
In case you missed the news, Rockstar Games has released a new-gen remaster for Red Dead Redemption, optimising the game for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
This version of the game is a pretty substantial upgrade over previous releases, offering better visuals, improved performance, and other features exclusive to current-gen consoles.
One feature that is seemingly absent on PS5, despite the fact it was advertised on the store page, is the inclusion of haptic feedback or the adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller.

As reported by Push Square, it appears that no use of the haptic feedback or adaptive triggers are present in the PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption.
Haptic feedback is a feature that creates small vibrations in the controller to communicate information to you. Adaptive triggers, on the other hand, are exclusive to PS5 DualSense controllers and provide dynamic resistance when you squeeze L2 and R2, typically during contextual gameplay moments. For example, firing a weapon or grabbing a lever.
Considering the amount of resources and money Rockstar has, it’s a bit of a shame to see simple things like this get left out, especially when these features are actually mentioned on the PlayStation Store.

Red Dead Redemption on PS5 is Missing Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers
Fans on the Red Dead Redemption Reddit page are also confused by this omission, saying that it’s odd to include on the store page but not in the actual release.

“I’m surprised there’s no haptics or adaptive triggers, only because in the store they list them,” reads one comment. “Usually they don’t even list these in the features unless they’re actually included in the game.”
A reply to this comment reads: “Yeah that’s very annoying. Sometimes the store page says ‘Trigger effect supported’ when it’s not so I always have to check.”
There appear to be a few more issues fans claim to have with the remaster, including sub-par HDR and out of sync audio.
“HDR looks like shit. Just turn it off,” reads one comment.

“Audio seems to be out of sync with image and sound balance is really out of balance,” reads another.
Of course, it’s possible these issues may be due to the individual user’s TV setup, so take these comments with a pinch of salt for the time being.
