Well, this might just be the most confusing tweet I’ve read all week. Bend Studio appears to be teasing Syphon Filter news - and no one really knows why.

It’s exciting nonetheless. It’s no secret that fans have been hoping for a new Syphon Filter for quite some time. After all, the last one arrived in 2007 with the arrival of Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow. There is some consolation for those subscribed to PlayStation Plus though. Several classic titles are available on the platform, including Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow. They are all in the pricey premium tier though, but fans are convinced something new may be on the way.

Speaking of PlayStation, take a look at our preview of Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Bend Studio recently took to Twitter to write, “We have a scheduled maintenance planned today. Players must Syphon their Filter. You will experience absolutely no issues during this time as this is completely made up. Thank you for your support.” I did tell you it was a confusing tweet.

This does read like complete and utter nonsense, but then surely Bend Studio isn’t silly enough to mention a beloved IP like Syphon Filter without reason. They surely knew how fans would react? We don’t actually know what Bend has been working on since the release of 2019’s Days Gone. It’s rumoured to be a new instalment in the Uncharted series, which was previously a Naughty Dog IP. Following this tweet though, fans are hoping it's a new Syphon Filter.

“Oh my god, am I going to need to buy a PlayStation tonight?” one user panicked. “I’m gonna need you to remake the OG trilogy,” added another. Of course, there were plenty others calling for Days Gone 2. Sigh, the mystery continues. Bend, let us in on your secrets.
