'Syphon Filter' Is Coming To PlayStation 5 With All-New Features

Bend Studio has confirmed that the cult classic Syphon Filter is making its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 with a brand-new feature.

The beloved PlayStation hidden gem will be one of the classic PS1 games released as part of PlayStation Plus Premium next month. But as an added bonus, it will be released with full support for PlayStation Trophies!

"Agency intel reports that Syphon Filter will include Trophies when it arrives on the all-new PlayStation Plus," Bend Studio Tweeted, along with footage of a Trophy called "An Explosive Start" unlocking.

It's not clear if this means every classic PS1, PSP, and PS2 game released for the new PS Plus will have new Trophies to unlock. More likely it will be on a case-by-case basis. And given that Bend Studio is a first-party PlayStation Studio, it's not a huge surprise to learn Syphon Filter is leading the charge.

While we certainly never needed an excuse to replay the excellent Syphon Filter, full Trophy support gives us a whole new reason to dive back into the excellent shooter.

If Syphon Filter isn't quite enough to tempt you into investing in PS Plus Premium (which is totally fair enough), the good news is that Sony has confirmed that many of the classic PlayStation, PS2, and PSP titles will also be available to purchase individually via the PlayStation Store.

Better still, if you already own any of the available PS3 or PSP games digitally, you'll be able to download and play them at no extra cost.
