Marvel Studios has dropped a little teaser pointing to Doctor Doom in recent promotional material for the upcoming film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
As part of the promotional campaign for the film, Marvel has been creating new posters, along with some in-universe advertisements, depicting each member of the superhero family.
We’ve seen the likes of The Thing promoting skincare products, while Mr Fantastic is seen wearing versatile suits.
There’s also an advert for H.E.R.B.I.E. the team’s robotic companion who acts as a personal assistant around the Baxter Building.

Below the product description for the robot, is a feature being proudly advertised as an additional product, a “throw in” for a “Doom Detection” early-warning system.
This is the first in-universe mention of Doom, and while it’s not the most solid of showings, the team behind the designs know exactly what they’re doing.
Of course, this could be a tongue-in-cheek nod to the fans aware of the connection between Doctor Doom and The Fantastic Four, however, it could also be seen as a clue that we’ll see Doom appear in the film.
Director Matt Shakman has noted that Doom doesn’t appear in his film, but that doesn’t account for the post-credit scenes, which are often directed by other creatives.

For example, the post-credits scene for Thunderbolts* was actually directed by the Russo brothers, and filmed on the Avengers: DOOMSDAY set.
What better early warning for Doctor Doom than the film featuring his biggest rivals?
We might get a random mention, or see the big reveal at the end of the film, who knows?
Marvel is, of course, keeping details of Doctor Doom under wraps, aside from the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as the villain, but we know he’ll be a major worry for the MCU.
