PlayStation Plus October free games appear online, are major improvement

Two of October's essential tier PlayStation Plus offerings have leaked online, and it's a better line-up compared to recent examples.

I can’t believe how quickly time flies, and yes I measure the passing of time via the latest PlayStation Plus drop. It feels like just yesterday that I was here announcing September’s line-up and now it’s already time for the October edition.

In case you missed them, September’s PlayStation Plus essential tier offerings consisted of Saints Row (2022), Black Desert - Traveler Edition, and Generation Zero. It’s hardly a dazzling line-up, especially when you consider that the price of PlayStation Plus has just risen by around a third. Heck, in certain territories, it’s skyrocketed by a whopping 600%. Many subscribers are in agreement that the calibre of games being offered does not match the sudden price hike. September’s extra and premium tier offerings didn’t fare much better, with headliners including NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, Star Ocean The Divine Force, and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2.

You can enjoy the delightful Sea of Stars on PlayStation Plus extra.

Today though, we gather to look at the latest October offerings. The full essential tier line-up isn’t due out until tomorrow but reliable leaker billbil-kun has taken to Twitter to announce two of this month’s titles ahead of time - and it’s a marked improvement. Partially anyway.

According to billbil-kun, The Callisto Protocol and Farming Simulator 22 will be added to the subscription service next month. The Callisto Protocol is a great addition if you ask me - a relatively recent game that I’m sure many have been curious to try out. I don’t expect Farming Simulator 22 to be quite as widely popular, but you never know.

Until these games are confirmed by Sony, do take all leaks with a pinch of salt but billbil-kun does prove to be correct month after month.
