Uh oh, this isn’t the response I’m imagining Sony was hoping for.
In case you missed it, PlayStation Plus’ May extra and premium tier additions were unveiled earlier this week and fair to say, fans are less than impressed with the selection.
The premium tier is gaining just one new game. Yes, one.

That title is 2003’s Battle Engine Aquila which originally launched on the PlayStation 2.
The extra tier is receiving nine new additions in the form of Sand Land, Soul Hackers 2, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted - Full Time Edition, Battlefield V, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Legends of the Zone Trilogy, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Humankind, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, and Gloomhaven Mercenaries Edition.
The above titles are set to join the service on Tuesday 20 May.
Sand Land is perfect for Akira Toriyama fans.
As you can likely see, it’s not the strongest line-up we’ve ever seen; admittedly it’s a bit thin on the ground.

We’re used to seeing 15 or so games drop during the extra and premium additions.
There isn’t exactly a mass appeal standout title either.
I’m sure some people will be hyped by Sand Land, and I’m somewhat curious to check out Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life as a cosy gaming fan, but there’s nothing here personally blowing me away.
Many fans share that sentiment.

“I hate it when they give previous Plus monthly games. This lineup is really bad, too,” wrote Reddit user electi_007.
“Warning to anyone interested in Humankind: the game has been abandoned on consoles and has an unobtainable plat,” added LPEbert.
“Horrible month,” remarked Top_Cauliflower_8771.
“I thought we were going to have better games with the games leaving last month,” user HolidayAd3978 commented.

Of course, we could all discover some bangers not on our radar but the overwhelming sentiment this month seems to be one giant oof.
