breaking news

One of Capcom’s most underrated games is finally coming to PlayStation Plus, giving fans a chance to revisit a beloved classic on modern PlayStation consoles. The surprise announcement was made during Sony’s latest State of Play, although it may not be the Dino Crisis comeback that fans have been hoping for. Oh, and we're also getting three other games, by the way.
For years, fans have called on Capcom to revive Dino Crisis, the iconic survival horror series that debuted on the original PlayStation in 1999. While there have been signs that Capcom hasn’t completely forgotten about the franchise, a new Dino Crisis game or remake has yet to be officially announced. For now, fans will have to settle for revisiting one of Capcom’s other underrated classics on PlayStation Plus.
Often described as Resident Evil with dinosaurs, Dino Crisis remains one of Capcom’s most beloved and underrated franchises.
While there’s still no new Dino Crisis game or remake to get excited about, the arrival of Dino Crisis 2 on PS Plus is sure to be welcome news for fans. The original Dino Crisis was added to PS Plus Premium in July 2024, and now, two years later, its action-packed sequel is finally joining the service this month.

Unlike the original game, which embraced the survival horror formula of Resident Evil, Dino Crisis 2 takes a much more action-focused approach. Players are encouraged to take down dinosaurs as quickly as possible, chaining kills together to build combos and earn higher scores. The shift away from survival horror proved controversial at the time, but Dino Crisis 2 has since become a beloved entry in the franchise.
As with other PS1 games available through PS Plus, Dino Crisis 2 will receive a number of enhancements on modern PlayStation consoles. Players can expect 4K upscaling, rewind functionality, quick save support and custom video filters when the game launches on PS Plus.
When is Dino Crisis 2 coming to PlayStation Plus?
Dino Crisis 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus Premium, with the Capcom classic making its debut on the subscription service this month.
What’s more, if you previously purchased Dino Crisis 2 through the PS Store on PS3, PSP or PS Vita, you’ll be able to access the PS5 and PS4 versions at no additional cost.
If you’re not a PS Plus subscriber, don’t worry; Dino Crisis 2 will also be available to purchase separately for £7.99/$9.99. Dino Crisis 2 is also available on Steam and GOG.
As mentioned at the top of this article, Sony also revealed three other games coming to PlayStation Plus soon. However, exact release dates for those titles have yet to be confirmed.
What else is coming to PlayStation Plus?
- Mycopunk - PS Plus Extra and Premium - Sometime in 2026
- Mega Man X: Command Mission - PS Plus Premium - Later this month
- Ratchet & Clank - PS Plus Premium - Sometime in 2026
As soon as Sony makes further PlayStation Plus announcements, including those release dates, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as possible.
