On 2 June PlayStation gamers were treated to a massive showcase revealing some of the new games coming to PlayStation 5 consoles.
The headliners were Marvel’s The Wolverine, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis and of course God of War Laufey, but one title that caught our eye was The Lost Wild.
At first we thought we were seeing new gameplay for Jurassic Park: Survival, which was announced all the way back in 2023 but hasn’t received an update since.
Turns out The Lost Wild is an entirely different game, and an impressive one at that. It’s one to keep only our radar if you’ve been longing for a Dino Crisis revival as we have.
Capcom’s Dino Crisis games gave us a newfound appreciation for just how terrifying dinosaurs can be.

How on Earth they haven’t been remade yet like the OG Resident Evil titles is beyond us, but The Lost Wild will seemingly scratch that itch until Capcom locks in.
Its description on Steam reads: “True fear is primal. Embark on an evasion-based survival horror experience against nature’s ultimate hunters — dinosaurs. Explore overgrown research facilities nestled in a lush wilderness. Be resourceful as you evade, distract, survive, and unravel the mystery at the heart of the island.”

It sounds like it’ll be a tense affair and we definitely got that vibe from the trailers. There was a lot of hiding in shrubbery and air ducts but they’re bound to only keep you protected for so long.
What especially stood out to us is there being no mention of guns or weapons. It sounds like you won’t be able to fend anything off if you get spotted, making stealth essential rather than optional.
This might feel like a bit of an adjustment, as games like Dino Crisis have spoiled us with the ability to blast back a velociraptor with a shotgun…
Unfortunately we won’t be getting the answers for quite a while as the game is currently scheduled for release sometime in 2027. An exact date wasn’t shared.
It looks like it’ll be worth the wait though and hopefully Capcom doesn’t surprise us with that remake anytime soon, otherwise The Lost Wild is going to be fighting an uphill battle…
The recent PlayStation State of Play broadcast didn’t just surprise us with a Dino Crisis successor title though.
Part of last night’s showcase also gave us a fresh look at an upcoming horror that could easily rival the scariest Resident Evil games. Capcom has some serious competition on his hands.
