I don’t know when we’re getting a new Dino Crisis, if we ever do, but at least there are some rather promising spiritual successors in the works right now.
For example, TeamKill Media’s Code Violet will be dropping next month after being delayed from November.
Code Violet has been on a lot of Dino Crisis fans’ radars since it was originally revealed in January, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty promising action game.
It was scheduled to be released sometime in December, but TeamKill Media ran into some last minute technical bluffs which caused the game to be delayed. The good thing is that news of the delay has also come with a new release date: 10 January, 2026.

“During certification, we hit some stubborn technical roadblocks related to unlocking entitlements for the deluxe and pre-order editions,” reads the announcement post from TeamKill Media. “Our four-person team pulled 20-hour days for weeks, exploring every possible fix, but it pushed back our plans for gameplay and story trailers, as well as getting review codes out the door."

The developer continued: “Faced with a tough call, we could either delay the launch by months to resolve these entitlement issues or pivot to a single standard edition that bundles in all the pre-order and deluxe bonuses—with just a short delay to implement the changes.”
TeamKill continues the post by writing “we couldn't bear to keep our fans waiting. So, we're moving forward with one unified Code Violet edition, where every purchase includes all the bonus outfits, items, and perks—no tiers.”
Pre-orders should be back up on the PlayStation Store momentarily, and while TeamKill acknowledges that “another delay is disappointing”, it sounds like the January date will be the final one, where “this short window ensures everything is perfectly situated for the smoothest launch possible.”

Code Violet Will Be The First PS5 Exclusive Of 2026
Code Violet is a PS5 exclusive game, and will not come to PC and Xbox Series X/S.

"For those asking us about a PC version of Code Violet… the reason we are not bringing it to PC is we do not want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character as well as other characters in the game," the developer revealed earlier this year.
TeamKill Media is the developer behind 2023’s Quantum Error, an action horror game that got rather poor reviews following launch.
It was listed as the fourth worst reviewed game of the year on Metacritic, citing bugs, poor AI, and a weak story as the reasons why.
Quantum Error was a PS5 exclusive similar to Code Violet, and although PC and Xbox Series X/S versions have been confirmed, there’s still no sign of those editions dropping any time soon.
