If you’re a PlayStation Plus premium tier subscriber, I’d urge you to check out Evil West which is available to sample now via a free trial.

We should receive the latest PlayStation Plus extra and premium tier offerings tomorrow, on 15 November. In the meantime, you can download this month’s essential tier freebies. Mafia II, Dragon Ball: The Breakers, and Alien Fireteam Elite are all up for grabs. It’s not the strongest line-up we’ve seen, but I’d argue that we’ve had worse months. Sony has clearly been trying to improve the premium tier’s value for money, adding the Sony Pictures Core catalogue and the ability to cloud stream on PS5. There are plenty of game trials available on the tier too, including a trial for the 2022 release Evil West.

Take a look at Evil West in action below.

Premium subscribers can sample the two-hour free trial for Evil West right now, and it’s a must play if you’re a fan of Red Dead Redemption, albeit if Red Dead was set in a horror-fuelled world. Developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Focus Entertainment, Evil West sees you play as one of the last agents in a “top-secret vampire hunting institute”. The game boasts gory combat, a “weird wild west universe”, and a thrilling story-driven main campaign.

When it was released, Evil West secured a respectable score of 73. WellPlayed wrote, “Evil West might wear old-school clothes, but under the hood it's a modern stunner. Gorgeous and gutsy, the tale of Jesse Rentier paints a dark world where the best way to illuminate your path is by way of a shocking Tesla-powered knuckle duster,” while TheSixthAxis added, “Evil West is an old-school banger, a reminder of the quick and sharp fun that action games can deliver. It has some flaws here and there, but the meat of the game is fast-paced and endlessly entertaining combat.”

Evil West isn’t the only trial available on PlayStation Plus premium. You can also sample Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök and so many more.
