PlayStation has an absurd number of freebies to take advantage of if you’re trying to save money or looking for your next purchase.
There are a lot of games out at the moment and even more to come as we close out 2025 so demos a great way of double-checking the game is for you before you part with your hard-earned cash.
Below you can find five demos on the PlayStation Store that jumped out at us, and you don’t need PlayStation Plus for them either.
The first one we’d like to recommend is Little Nightmares III, just in time for the game’s full launch tomorrow, 10 October. For the first time you’ll be able to play through a Little Nightmares game in co-op and it’s as fun as it sounds. We have a review coming shortly.

Coming through second is Islets which drew us in with its cartoon artstyle. In terms of gameplay it’s a metroidvania with solid combat and plenty of exploration. It looks pretty good so it’s worth checking out through the free demo on either PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.
Next we have Yooka-Replaylee. I’ve been playing this one myself for review and it’s a vast improvement over the game’s original lacklustre release. The first world paints a clear picture of what the full game is like and if you’re a fan of Banjo-Kazooie this is one for you to try.
Like Little Nightmares III this next game is a good one to play this month, especially with Halloween right around the corner. It’s called Unmourned and at a glance it looks like a thoroughly spooky experience. It’s described as a “first-person psychological horror game where unsettling gameplay and a chilling story collide.”
Last but certainly not least we have Sonic Racing Crossworlds, and if you’d like an in-depth explanation of what’s good and bad about it I’m going to shamelessly plug my review of the game. For a brief summary though it’s probably the best Sonic racing game SEGA has ever produced, combining an insane roster of characters and vehicles with competitive driving and some hilarious DLC additions.

That’s it for now, but there are plenty more demos on the PlayStation Store so if the above titles didn’t impress you feel free to go have a look for yourself at what’s out there.
