PlayStation is rewarding players with free ‘limited edition’ goodies for taking part in a campaign that celebrates the release of the Until Dawn movie to purchase.

The film, based on the smash-hit game of the same name, is now available to buy and rent across all stores, and PlayStation is capitalising with unique avatar packs for players.

You may have already received an email about this campaign, in which Sony states, “To celebrate the digital release of Until Dawn, the movie inspired by the PlayStation game, we’re giving away a limited-edition avatar set featuring visuals from the Until Dawn movie.”

In order to scoop these exclusive avatars, the steps are simple, and you can claim them now.

Just download the Sony Pictures Core app on your PlayStation 5, or PlayStation 4, and then after being prompted, sign up for the campaign at the given website.

Once completed, the avatars will be available to download from the PSN store.

The avatars feature key visuals from the movie, including the hourglass as seen in the house within scenes, and the one featured on the movie poster.

If you were a fan of the adaptation, this is a great way to show your support for the film, though if it missed the mark and you prefer the original game, or its remake, then there are plenty of avatars to choose from instead.

While the Until Dawn movie did pull in key moments from the game, it also reimagined the entire plot, bringing in some unique choices in order to mimic and borrow horror movie tropes.

Personally, I can’t see why you’d watch it when you could play the vastly superior game, in either incarnation, but if the film scratched an itch for you, then have at it, before this ‘limited edition’ run ends.
