If one of the very best RPGs of all-time is available to play at no extra cost, then you best bet I’m going to draw your attention to it.
In case you missed it, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is available to enjoy for free via PlayStation Plus’ extra tier, within the cost of your subscription, of course.
It’s been available for several months now, but there’s a very good reason why I’m drawing attention to it.
You see, Cyberpunk 2077 joined the service in July.

Third-party titles typically stick around for six, 12, 18, or 24 months; it goes without saying that we as the public aren’t privy to what arrangement Sony has reached with third-party publishers.
It’s only when a title joins the segment of ‘Games Leaving Soon’ that we get a 30 day warning.
Well, as it stands, Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t going anywhere, but it is always best if we prepare for the worst.
If it does only stick around for six months, that could see it depart in January.

That may seem a way off, but it’s already almost October and Cyberpunk 2077 is a pretty stonky game.
According to How Long To Beat, a main and side story playthrough could take you 63 hours, while completionists should expect to put in closer to 107 hours.
It’s with this in mind that I always think with hefty games on subscription services that it’s best to dive in as soon as you can, so you never feel rushed if a game suddenly does depart.
There is one silver lining here.

The Witcher 3, another CD Projekt RED title, was kept on PlayStation Plus for 12 months.
It arrived in August of 2024, leaving in August of 2025.
It is perhaps not unreasonable then to assume that Cyberpunk 2077 may follow the same pattern.
It’s far from being the only brilliant RPG on PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.

You can also enjoy the likes of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Bloodborne, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, and Undertale, to name just a few.
If you’re yearning to find out about the subscription service’s next batch of additions, those are a few weeks away.
The essential tier’s next line-up will be unveiled on 1 October, with the games arriving on 8 October.
The extra and premium tier games should be revealed on 7 October to land on 15 October.

Let’s hope for some more bangers, or perhaps even a day one release or two.
That would be nice, wouldn’t it?
