Cyberpunk 2077 fans are going to want to start a new playthrough following this exciting new PlayStation 5 announcement.
Night City is one of the most visually stunning open-worlds gamers have ever seen, but that wasn’t always the case of course.
Since Cyberpunk 2077 first launched on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 its graphical quality was…dubious at best, though CD Projekt Red turned things around in the end.
If you thought the PlayStation 5 version of the game looked good, check out this new version…
Today it was announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be the next game to get a free PlayStation 5 Pro upgrade, which is hilarious news given recent events.

For those who own a PlayStation 5 Pro already though you’re getting the best version of Cyberpunk 2077 so far.
Thanks to the cutting-edge technology of the Pro players will be able to experience Night City with 4K visuals, better performance and of course ray tracing.
PlayStation confirmed this new update will also utilise PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.
It’s said that one of the key areas of focus for this update was the lighting, which is essential for Cyberpunk 2077 given how often the player is bathed in the neon glow of the game’s metropolis.
Performance is also a big one. Cyberpunk 2077 has very few loading screens as is but with the boosted performance from the Pro players will be able to jump back into their playthrough quicker, so they soak in the upscaled visuals sooner.

While the PlayStation 5 Pro price-hike was poorly timed for this update, there is a silver lining.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently offered as part of your PlayStation Plus Extra subscription, so if you’re yet to start your playthrough you can do so at no additional cost.

The PlayStation 5 Pro update for Cyberpunk 2077 drops tomorrow on 8 April. Wake up Samurai, you’ve got a city to burn, again, now with ray traced flames.
