Not only is this terrible news for those who are yet to upgrade to a new-gen PlayStation console, it also has big implications for future generations as well.
At the time of writing the PlayStation 6 is still heavily shrouded in mystery and rumour, though everyone knows it's coming. Like all next-gen consoles it aims to push performance further than any console has before, and as such the price has been a hot topic of conversation.
While no one knows just how expensive the next PlayStation will be, taking a look at this latest price-hike paints a worrying picture of the future.
At this rate the PlayStation 6 could cost somewhere around $1,000, close to £1,000 in the U.K as well.
That's before you take revisions into consideration too, such as the PlayStation 6 Pro or some other form of hardware upgrade.
For now, gamers reluctantly look ahead to this upcoming price-hike, which again goes into effect on 2 April onwards.
