A new Astro Bot game is coming to PlayStation, and it looks like everything we could have possibly hoped for.

The PlayStation State Of Play showcase is in full swing, and so far we’ve been treated to additional news on the Silent Hill 2 remake, as well as the Until Dawn remake, amongst other new game announcements.

Check out the trailer for the new Astro Bot game below!

However amongst the announcements came the surprise reveal that a new Astro Bot game is coming to the PlayStation 5 later this year!

It was speculated for a while that the little fella was getting his own game sooner or later, and now we finally have confirmation.

For those who don't know, Astro Bot has essentially become the PlayStation 5 mascot, starring in his own micro-title which comes as a free download with every PS5 console, acting as a way to teach new users about all the cool features Sony's console is capable of.

This upcoming title though is a fully-fledged platformer, which will see the little robot traverse a variety of cool worlds, solve puzzles, and meet loads of new friends, as well as discover a few PlayStation references along the way.

He'll also face off against a variety of awesome bosses too, so there's a lot to look forward to.

Speaking of looking forward, you won't have long to wait before you can play through Astro Bot's next adventure, as the game comes out on 6 September later this year.

Unlike the previous title, this one won't be a free download unfortunately, but that's a small price to pay for more of Sony's cool new mascot.
