Steam users can currently grab well over 50 free downloads as part of a new promotion, which is perfect for the two or three people out there who don't intend to spend the rest of this weekend glued to either Baldur's Gate 3 or Starfield.

There's an embarrassment of free games on Steam, especially if you know where to look. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that Steam dropped a huge promotion with over 70 free demos to spotlight some of the most interesting indie releases of this year and beyond. Today's offering is... similar, but not quite the same.

Got a Steam Deck yet? Why not take a look at what the handheld has to offer below!

At the time of writing, Steam is holding a little something called Steam Strategy Fest. The event takes until 4 September, and is packed with discounts, exclusive deals, and a huge amount of demos to get you in the mood for some steamy strategy action. Phwoar.

There's a huge number of deals on some of the biggest and best strategy games, including Civilization VI for just under a fiver, For The King for £3.87, and Age Of Empires II for £3.74. Some of the best around for a little more than a meal deal. Or maybe those are actually cheaper than a meal deal right now. I can't keep up with the economy the way it is.

If you'd rather save that money for a meal deal, there are tons of free demos to look through, both for upcoming titles and old classics. You can lose yourself to Loop Hero, get stuck into Warnament, or indulge in some World War II action via Hex Of Steel. The choice is very much yours, my friends. As I say, there are well over 50 demos in there, so be sure to have a good rummage through and see what takes your fancy.
