Stardew Valley Goes Full Skyrim In This 'Expansion'

This is one of the best mods I've seen in a long time

Stardew Valley is most definitely the gift that keeps on giving.

After initially announcing that he was taking a break from the game to develop new title Haunted Chocolatier, indie developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has now confirmed that Update 1.7 is officially in the works.

As for what it entails, we have no idea; in fact, it’s very possible that it could take Barone several years to develop.

Update 1.6, for example, was in development for a good long while and landed on consoles eight months after its eventual PC debut.

It’s with this in mind that we’re likely going to need to be patient, but we can turn to the modding world in the meantime to keep ourselves entertained.

One mod I’d personally recommend is an incredible fan expansion that landed a couple of years back that’s perfect for those of you who love titles like Skyrim or Baldur’s Gate 3.

Stardew Druid’ is a fantastic creation from NexusMods user neosinf that deserves way more attention (although the mod is already doing pretty well for itself).

The mod “adds unique, myth themed mechanics and content to the core game experience”. That includes “new quests, locations, companions, lore and collectibles”.

“Learn to cast wildgrowth, lightning, meteors, gravity wells, shapeshift into a dragon and more!” the synopsis teases.

As the title of the mod suggests, there’s a clear fantasy theme to all of this, making Stardew Valley feel like a very different beast of a game.

‘Stardew Druid’ last received an update earlier this year and, in fact, a major expansion is planned for late 2025.

Several new features are in the works including the addition of 10 trainable monsters/creatures, a completed storyline with new quests and a secret ending, a rite mastery system, improved effect animations, a druid economy system, and more heroic versions of NPCs.

As I said, these features are currently due to land in late 2025 but you may as well check out what ‘Stardew Druid’ already has to offer before then.

It boasts over 50 quests, over 25 abilities, six new unique NPCs and 20-plus supporting NPCs, 15 recruitable companions, 10 custom locations, over 20 monsters, over 1000 collectibles, and over 5000 lines of dialogue.

It’s more than worth your time; this comes from one exceptionally talented fan.
