Skyrim multiplayer in 2024 is one of the best things we've ever seen

It's time to go adventuring, friends!

It’s scary to go alone, which is why many RPGs send you off on your adventures with a trusty bow and arrow or sword. However, nothing compares to the power of friendship.

No, we’re not about to reference a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode (though they’re elite entertainment), but rather how important multiplayer options are when facing down dragons.

This Skyrim co-op mod looks like a lot of fun. Fancy a game?

Bethesda’s Skyrim is beloved for a multitude of reasons, yet one of the areas its sorely lacking is co-op accessibility. But not anymore.

Created by NexusMods member The Together Team, ‘Skyrim Together Reborn’ delivers a way to explore the fantastical world of Skyrim with friends, or strangers, as you fight your way to the end.

As explained by the developers themselves, “’Skyrim Together Reborn' is a passion project, created through the work of a small team of volunteers. The aim [...] is to develop a true Skyrim multiplayer experience that brings online multiplayer into this otherwise strictly single player game.”

Even though this mod has been available for a couple of years now, it’s recently been updated to its 1.6 version.

It’s far from a problem free mod – but how many actually deliver such a utopian experience? – but it looks like a lot of fun.

We’ll spend hours playing this game despite its age, but the days we sink into its lore would undoubtedly feel better spent with friends shouting and scrapping alongside us.

Now that we know that The Elder Scrolls VI will differ from Skyrim in a major way, so sayeth Todd Howard, we’re both nervous and elated about the long-awaited sequel.

Whether we live long enough to see the game launch is another thing entirely, as its release date has us questioning our mortality.

Yet, while we might be six feet deep when it releases, we’ll at least pass knowing we got to experience Skyrim with a merry band of companions by our side.
