Move over Skyblivion, because there’s a new Oblivion and Skyrim mash-up on the scene, and it looks positively ridiculous (in the best way possible).

Echoes of Oblivion is a brand new mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim over on NexusMods from author JobiWanUK, and it’s taking all of your favourite Oblivion mechanics and porting them into Bethesda’s Skyrim.

“Have you recently ridden the wave of nostalgia from playing Oblivion Remastered? Or just long for some of the more enjoyable and/or silly things from The Elder Scrolls IV?” writes mod author JobiWanUK.

“I present to you 'Echoes of Oblivion' - a mod to bring some of those very things into Skyrim.”

The first thing you’re probably going to notice on the mod page is the “optional high poly makeover for some of the NPCs” that gives the NPCs that odd, flat-faced, smooth look that was present in the original release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

However, I think the changes that the mod has made to how the NPCs act and how conversations with them work are far more interesting (and also pretty funny).

Echoes of Oblivion adds "nearly 4,500 voice lines" that make NPCs act more in line with how they did in Oblivion.

They'll make aimless, pointless remarks about the weather, guards will comment on how strong you are and what skills you use, and some characters will even say mean things if they just straight up don't like you.

They’ll even make weirdly emotionally detached comments about dead bodies they find. We are so back.

And even though the mod literally only went live this week, it already has heaps of positive comments from NexusMods members.

This one sounds like it’s a must-have for anyone who just finished a playthrough of Oblivion Remastered, and needs something to tide them over while they wait for the Skyblivion crew to finish up.
