This slightly older Animal Crossing game is finally getting the love it deserves, and you can even play the new version of the game on the system it was originally released on…
One of my friends is an Animal Crossing fiend. They have devoted countless hours to completing each and every game in the franchise that Nintendo has released, and I think it’s fair to say that they’d probably sell a kidney to get their hands on the next game early.
However, there is one entry in the series that said friend deems the worst, and that game is Animal Crossing: City Folk.
Admittedly, I never got around to playing this one myself back in the day, as I was probably too busy playing some other Wii games like Red Steel or MadWorld. Y’know, the cool, edgy Wii games.

Animal Crossing: City Folk supposedly has a lot of issues, but the main one seems to be that it’s just a repacked, yet inferior version of Animal Crossing: Wild World (the Nintendo DS game that I did play, and can confirm was a banger).
Well, one extremely talented individual has somehow managed to fix basically every issue that fans had with the Wii title, in a new version of the game that they’ve dubbed Animal Crossing: City Folk Deluxe.
According to the author behind the project, it includes 239 villagers from previous Animal Crossing titles, 94 officially distributed and previously unreleased items, 40 unused items, 35 new items, and even online functionality.
Honestly the list of new stuff is so long that I highly suggest you check out the page for the project instead, because it is huge.

So huge in fact, that folks over on the r/AnimalCrossing subreddit are already excited to jump in.
“Looks really cool”, commented user Unlikely_Raccoon6475.
“In my opinion City Folk is really underrated. I'm happy to see some love for this game!”
“woah i might have to bring up my dusty yellowy wii from the basement… this looks great!” replied user zealea.

Gotta admit, this is astonishing work on behalf of modder Aurum. I don’t think I’ve seen a remastered project as impressive as this since, well… ever.
Nintendo, instead of sending your legal drones after this modder, maybe you should just offer them a job for once?
