Skyrim meets Cyberpunk 2077 in remarkable free download

One player has modded Skyrim to the point where it looks like Cyberpunk 2077.

The Skyrim modding community is positively unmatched. I’d imagine it’s why, all these years later, so many of us refuse to grow bored of the game. Thanks to some incredible mods, there’s always something to keep it feeling fresh and new.

One fan recently took to recreating Blackreach in Unreal Engine 5, yielding stunning results. There’s the fan-made Romance Dawn gameplay expansion mod which I strongly urge you to check out, plus Helgen Reborn which allows you to rebuild a ruined town in an expansive new quest. Today though, I bring you a very different mod. One creator has turned Skyrim into what is essentially Cyberpunk 2077, switching out mediaeval fantasy for urban futurism.

Skyrim fans are all waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI. Take a look at the original teaser trailer below.

The project is the work of popular creator Digital Dreams who applied so many mods to Skyrim that it’s totally unrecognisable. While the end result doesn’t quite live up the quality of CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077, it definitely bears some resemblance and let’s face it, this project is using a 2011 game as a base model. It was never going to be a replica. Take a look at the project in action below.

Needless to say, viewers were full of praise, as they always are with Digital Dreams’ stellar projects. “This right here is the reason why games should be designed to be mod friendly,” one wrote, while another added, “Dang, this looks very impressive, awesome.” Another comment read, “This looks somewhat like a remaster Deus Ex,” and I kind of see that too.

If you too want to join in on all the modding fun, a full modlist is available in the video’s description so you too can overhaul Skyrim into something quite different. I always look forward to seeing what Digital Dreams is going to cook up next.
