If you’re itching to get back into Night City and the atmosphere of Cyberpunk 2077, this mod will overhaul the story and some of the game mechanics to make everything feel fresh and exciting.

There’s little wrong with the CD Projekt Red game, but some players take issue with a few of the mechanics around the missions, and one modder has attempted to smooth things out.

Once you’ve installed Take a Breather - Pace and Reputation Overhaul, you’ll notice some major changes to how side missions are dished out.

The creator considers this to be a “A lore‑friendly overhaul that injects breathing space, pacing and roleplay opportunities.”

Essentially, the mod changes how you obtain missions, making it feel more natural to the story of an up-and-coming citizen.

Missions will now be given out once you hit certain street cred levels, rather than the quest giver just giving out any old mission to any choom off the street.

In Cyberpunk 2077, only Rogue and Muamar had any requirements to meet, but this mod implements that to every fixer throughout the game.

And, it’s not only based on street cred, but also the personality of the fixer, along with their power in the district.

This should make certain street cred milestones feel more impactful and slow the pace of the story progression.

With each fixer having an unlock path, it’ll make your rise in the mercenary world feel more natural.

You might be planning a new playthrough of the game on PC and want to change things up, and this mod will certainly do that, but in a more subtle way.

The creator, Xurec, has noted that the mod in compatible with other mods that tweak the fixers and traders, and players are enjoying how everything feels in Night City after this update.
