The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still thriving as its fans continue to update it more than Bethesda could have ever imagined.
Bethesda is in its community’s debt as it's modders that have been keeping fans occupied while it takes the better half of a decade to develop The Elder Scrolls VI, which according to insiders isn’t as far along as you might have hoped.
Mods for Skyrim add all sorts of new content to the game as well as make changes to the visuals and world map. Sometimes, entirely new maps are added as well.
The mod we’re talking about today though is a little more basic than brand-new regions to explore, but still strong in its own way.

It’s called Thorne’s Sting and you can download it for free from NexusMods right now.
The mod’s description says it’s a “fully voiced quest mod about Veska Thorne, a retired assassin turned beekeeper".
"Help her confront buried secrets, recruit allies, and survive a deadly past. Twists, followers, vendors, and a brutal final fight await in Thorne’s Sting," it continues.
It’s your run-of-the-mill quest expansion but one that’s clearly had some effort put into it, especially if the NPCs have voices.

The most powerful addition this mod brings to the game is new companion characters, though we know none will ever surpass Serana from the official DLC.
If you choose to undertake this new quest, simply download it from NexusMods and boot up the game. From there, a courier will approach you with what you need to kick-off the quest and then the fun will really begin.
It’s not much but it’s more than Bethesda is giving us at the moment, as it feels like we’re hardly any closer to getting our hands on The Elder Scrolls VI…
