Skyrim Gamers Losing Their Minds Over Huge New Expansion

I cannot wait to get my hands on this one

The team behind the most exciting Skyrim project of the last ten years just released a massive update regarding the upcoming project, and they seem keen to let players know why the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered hasn’t fazed them in the slightest.

If you’re an Elder Scrolls fan, you have doubtlessly heard of Skyblivion, the ridiculously impressive remake of Oblivion in Skyrim’s engine that’s been in the works since 2012.

The project has become so famous in the last couple of years that it’s even on Bethesda’s radar, as they sent the Skyblivion team codes to play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered before it released.

Well, it seems that we’re in the final stretch now, because the latest developer diary for the project shows Skyblivion in a borderline finished state, and the devs still seem confident that they’ll be making their Q4 2025 release date.

Over on the r/Games subreddit, several Skyrim fans have stated that they’re still just as excited to play the remake, regardless of whether or not they enjoyed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

“Enjoying the remaster for what it is, the OG game with a Fresh coat of paint ontop of the original foundation (warts and all). But many of the OG games faults are hard to put up with in this modern age”, commented user ahnold11.

“Skyblivion being a true remake and reimagining of the game sounds incredible.”

“I wasn't really interested in the remaster because it was all just too familiar, even though I played the original ages ago-- I watched some footage and it all kind of came back to me (both the positives and negatives)”, replied user hyrule5.

“But I will definitely be checking this out since it's more in a "remake" kind of territory.”

Personally, I think I’m kind of more excited to play this one than I was to play Oblivion Remastered.

That might have something to do with these developer diaries though, because knowing the ins and outs of the process has just instilled me with so much faith in the project. I already feel extremely confident that Skyblivion is going to hit the mark.
