Few games have managed to cause more frustration than The Elder Scrolls VI, as fans prepare to get ready for the second trailer in what is fast approaching a decade.
The RPG’s big announcement back in 2018 has become the subject of ridicule, and as we stand in the second-half of 2025, the idea of a new trailer is still on all our minds.
There is some hope. The recent announcement of a silent auction for Make-A-Wish Foundation will give fans the chance to appear as an NPC for The Elder Scrolls VI, leading many to assume more information must be on the way soon.
Over on Reddit, fans of The Elder Scrolls VI are speculating that 2025 could be the year we get a substantial second trailer, perhaps this time with an actual release window and gameplay.

Expensive-Country801 laid out what they think the state of the game is, and how they believe we could get a trailer during 2025.
“There's 1-1.5 years left of development, followed by a 6 month-1 year to refine and market the game. There's reason to be bullish on a trailer and release date announcement coming out this year,” they reasoned.
Others are less sure Bethesda will give us what we want this year.
“I'd say it's more likely than previous years, but still not especially likely,” says Dieselface, who thinks we won’t see the game until 2027, or even 2028.

It’s noted throughout the thread that Bethesda generally likes shorter windows of time between trailers and releases of their games.
Given this, one fan argued: “I'd say maybe a very short teaser this year, a cinematic one. We won't get a gameplay trailer until about 6 months out.”
It’s also worth mentioning recent reports that claim The Elder Scrolls VI is technically playable, and that a trailer exists and is being shared internally at Microsoft and Bethesda.
Last year’s Game Awards saw the big reveal of The Witcher 4. Could the end-of-year celebration for 2025 see another huge RPG shown to the world? We’ll have to wait and see.
