Skyrim is 1000 times better with this secret glider that lets you soar off mountains

Skyrim’s world just got a little bit smaller, thanks to a secret paraglider that lets you soar off mountains.

The world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is pretty massive, let’s face it, and we’re thankful there’s so much to do in it.

With each corner of the game filled with so many secrets, it’s helpful to know how to get yourself around Skyrim as fast as possible.

Thankfully, that’s where the new “Skyrim’s Paraglider” mod comes in. It’s an add-on for Skyrim that adds a glider in the same vein as Breath of the Wild’s.

It works exactly like how it sounds. You can jump off a high surface, ledge, or building, and tap the activate key to enable the paraglider. You can then safely glide from any distance without fear of taking damage.

Similar to Breath of the Wild, it appears that using the glider also uses up stamina when in use. So, be sure to not glide from too high if your character doesn’t have a high stamina stat.

To install the mod, you’ll also need to grab SKSE, Nemesis, Address Library, DAR, and Better Jumping.

That's quite the requirement, but you’re adding brand new game mechanics to a 14-year-old game, so we get it.

Once you’ve got the mod installed, you can find the paraglider by exiting Falkreath by the east gate and heading towards the crossroads. You’ll be greeted by a friendly bloke called Fred there, who will give you the glider.

For the time being, the mod only supports third-person view. This is due to compatibility issues with a setting called “AnimObjects”, which is essentially how objects and certain animations work together.

Therefore, the glider will only work properly when using third-person view. Mod creator 0x4Ch0x4Fh0x4Bh0x49h is planning an update in the future which forces a third-person view.
