You may recall that PlayStation unveiled Project Defiant back in June.

If you don't, I can't blame you to be honest.

Why? Well, Project Defiant is Sony's first attempt at a wireless fight stick and if you're not into fighting games, you probably glossed over the reveal without a single care given.

For the fighting fans amongst you though, it's undoubtedly exciting to see Sony take a first-party foray into this corner of the hardware market.

Now, several months on, the company is lifting the lid further on the project, unveiling that Project Defiant is officially titled the FlexStrike.

The FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick is officially due to land in 2026 with it being revealed that the product will come with its own "sling carry case".

It's compatible with both PlayStation 5 consoles and PC via a wired connection or wirelessly via PlayStation Link, and boasts ultra-low latency wireless technology.

The FlexStrike additionally features mechanical switch buttons and tool-less swappable restrictor gates with the device being powered by a rechargable battery.

If you own multiple bits of Sony hardware, you don't need to worry about a tangle of cables.

Thanks to PlayStation Link audio, you can use a single PS Link adaptor to use both your FlexStrike and Pulse Elite headphones, for example.

Likewise, a single PS Link adaptor will let you use two FlexStrike devices if you're going head-to-head with a friend.

The FlexStrike is said to feature a non-slip base, ergonomic design, adjustable controls, and it won't affect your DualSense connectivity.

As I said, the hardware is due to launch in 2026 although an exact release date or window hasn't been revealed beyond this.

We do now know, however, that attendees at Evo 2025 can get a glimpse of the hardware in person; this event runs from 1 to 3 August.

As for pricing, that remains unknown too with Sony keeping tightlipped on that front.

Let's face it, this is going to cost a pretty penny.

Of course, when pricing information does drop, we'll be certain to bring that information to you.
