Heads up, RPG fans. Skyrim is getting a massive 60+ hour expansion later this year.
With the amount of content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it’s no wonder that it ends up being many people’s “forever game”.
Even putting aside the base game and its three large DLC, you’ve got the Creation Club and modders filling in the blanks and making it even more massive.
Skyrim mods such as Call of the Deep and The Logic of Death are great examples of modders going above and beyond to extend the lifespan of the game, and we may be getting a new one very soon.

Lordbound is the next mod to put on your radar. It’s a large expansion made by a team of experienced modders, projected to release in September 2025.
Lordbound will last approximately 60 hours, and adds an entirely new location to explore with over 40 quests and 50 dungeons.

“Visit the valley of Druadach and embark on an epic quest to bring peace to this war-torn region,” Lordbound’s description reads. “Explore a new region, three faction questlines, non-linear quests, dungeons, new weapons and armor, and more. Your actions will determine the fate of Druadach Valley. For better... or for much worse.”
Druadach is described as “a dense new region larger than Solstheim”, and has the “biggest main quest you've ever played in Skyrim, with choices and consequences that change the state of the valley.”
It sounds like it’ll be a worthy successor to the official expansions put out by Bethesda during Skyrim’s original post-launch content run. Don’t get me wrong, the Dragonborn DLC was great, but we've all played it a hundred times over by now.
The good news is that you won’t have much longer to wait until you get to play it. Lordbound will be releasing in September 2025, according to the ModDB page.
