The world of Skyrim has arguably never run more smoothly - and that's thanks to this fan-made remaster that’s available to download for free right now.

Released roughly 14 years ago on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it still baffles me that to this day, players cannot get enough of Bethesda’s ever-popular fantasy RPG, Skyrim.

Check out the Skyrim Anniversary Edition trailer below!

We know, this entry in The Elder Scrolls series has become somewhat of a meme with it releasing on every console generation since its inception in 2011 but to be fair, it’s only released as often as it has because fans continue to buy it. I’m not complaining because, like many, I love Skyrim too.

Other than being a fantastic game, one of the other main reasons that Skyrim remains so popular today is largely thanks to its modding community.

What’s more, unlike most other games on console, Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Starfield all benefit from mods via Bethesda’s Creation Club on Xbox. Granted, not all mods are available, especially for those which are very technically demanding, still, it’s a nice option to have to mod on console.

One mod in question that is exclusive to the PC version of Skyrim is ‘ENB Frame Generation’ created by Doodlez PureDark, which is free to download now via NexusMods.

“ENB addon which adds AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation to significantly boost FPS and stabilise frame pacing,” reads the brief description of the mod. So basically, if you were unhappy with a stuttering Skyrim on PC, this mod is worth considering.

The mod creator does go into detail about how to get the best out of ‘ENB Frame Generation’, so be sure to read the information on the mod page before downloading.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

It’s also included in an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost as well as being currently available with PS Plus Extra and Premium.
