The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim players need to give this free expansion a go, especially if you’re a Game Of Thrones fan.
Skyrim is all about dragons. Your character is the Dragonborn, you’re attacked by a dragon in the first few minutes of the game and your quest is all about slaying the worst dragon of them all and bringing peace back to the lands.
Keeping with that theme The Dragon Eggs is a free mod you can download now from NexusMods, adding some new collectibles to the game that can be used to craft powerful weapons.
As the name implies upon downloading this mod a collection of golden dragon eggs will be littered across the land, waiting for you to go out and find them.

These eggs can be used as offerings for the Jarls of Skyrim and are extremely valuable, so you can fill your pockets with gold by cashing them in.
Their true purpose is much cooler though. According to the mod each dragon egg is made from either fire or ice, and contains an emerald of the egg's respective element. These can then be used to craft powerful swords and daggers at forges, but you’ll need other materials to bind them together. A lot of the materials you’ll need can be found on the dragons themselves so you might have to go out and do some slaying.
You can see some examples of the weapons you’ll be able to craft on the mod’s page.
It’s a neat addition to the game and would work well with some other expansion mods. At the very least it’ll keep your next playthrough fresh.

We’re still presumably a long way away from The Elder Scrolls VI as Bethesda still hasn’t given us an update on its release date. We haven’t even seen an in-game screenshot.
The Elder Scrolls VI will obviously be set in a different location to Skyrim but I do wonder if we’ll see any dragons pop-up in the next game. Skyrim’s story was obviously written around the mythical monsters so I doubt we’ll see as many but they’re a cool enemy to fight so it’d be a shame for them to be extinct by the time the next game rolls around.
In the meantime enjoy Skyrim while you still can, although it offers such a timeless experience I’m sure we’ll all still be playing it even when the next Elder Scrolls game comes out.
