Xbox is back with another edition of Free Play Days, with six games up for grabs that you can play this weekend, three of which you don't need a Game Pass subscription for.
Thatâs music to our ears, especially after hearing about Xbox Project Helixâs alleged retail price. Weâre convinced the end-times of gaming are upon us, so we'll take any chance to save some money.
While this line-up wonât prove to be everyoneâs cup of tea, there is some value in this bundle.
Pokémon fans are going to be all over this pair of monster-battling games

Included in the line-up are two Monster Hunter spin-offs: Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

You do need Game Pass to enjoy these two RPGs - and you canât go wrong with either title, but weâd probably recommend Wings of Ruin for the most up-to-date experience. You only get three hours to play each game, however, although those timed trials will remain available the full weekend.
If the bog-standard Monster Hunter games arenât for you, Iâd recommend you give the above a go instead.
Compared to the other games in the series, this is a lighter RPG where you catch, raise and battle the monsters rather than hunt them, and the semi open-world exploration is utterly sublime.
Game Pass users get the critically-underrated Dying Light sequel for free this weekend
My personal favourite game on this list is Dying Light 2: Stay Human - Reloaded Edition, but you do need Game Pass for this one. It doesn't matter which tier, though.
Now if you were unimpressed by this game when it first came out, we understand entirely. It wasnât the sequel weâd hoped for and there was far too much missing from the game at launch.
With post-launch support, however, itâs finally the game it should have been all of those years ago. More zombies, guns, and a parkour system that never gets it old.
Itâs well-worth a play nowadays and if youâre still on the fence, you have full reign of the game for the entirety of the weekend.
The event will end when October 25 draws to a close, so dive in while youâve still got time.
The final three Xbox freebies
While not as impressive as the previous games mentioned, the rest are still worth sampling before the weekend concludes.
Letâs Build a Zoo is a cute game about building your own successful animal empire with an enormous list of creatures to collect and display. Tropico 6 also comes highly-recommended from those whoâve played it. The life-management simulator has been praised for its humour and is rated 87% positive on Steam.
Both of these titles are also available until the end of the weekend with no limit on how far you can progress.
Finally, we have Riders Republic which is the other game that's free for all users, no Game Pass required. This is a game made for those who enjoy extreme sports. With dirt-biking, snowboarding and many more sports to choose from, this one is well-worth a go if you donât know what to play this weekend.
It's available for slightly longer than the rest of the line-up, with access expiring at the end of the day on Monday, October 26. There's, again, no limit on how far you can progress.
