Hear ye, hear ye, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is getting yet another re-release, sort of.

It’s not getting an official re-release, not unless Bethesda has another one planned for new-gen platforms. It would exactly be a surprise, despite all the technological advancements in gaming Skyrim is still the most-played game the developer ever produced, even beating Starfield in terms of concurrent players.

Check out our review for Starfield below

But no Bethesda doesn’t seem to have plans to mess with something that isn’t broken, as it’s currently all-hands-on-deck for the next game in the series, The Elder Scrolls VI.

That hasn’t stopped fans though. Modders have torn apart Skyrim and stitched it back together with a variety of changes and upgrades, creating what they’d call a “Next Generation” version of the game, and you can download it for free right now.

It adds heaps of improvements to the game, not just for its visual and sound quality either, but the gameplay benefits from it too.

The mod pack reportedly collates all the latest and greatest graphic mods, giving the land of Skyrim a photorealistic look worth exploring all over again just to see what looks different. Combat has also been enhanced to be more exciting than the standard hack-and-slash gameplay, as well as changes to character customisation so you can truly make your Dragonborn your own.

In order to apply the mod pack to your version of the game you need to navigate to this website and follow the installation instructions, then you’ll be able to experience the enhanced RPG in all of its glory, and it is glorious.

While it’s not holding a candle to some of the latest RPGs, like Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s definitely worth a look if you’re a fan of the game. Besides, The Elder Scrolls VI isn’t due to release for a good few years, so what else are we going to do in the meantime?

The Nolvus mod pack is also compatible with other NexusMods, provided they don’t clash with each other.
