With the release of Cyberpunk 2077 for Nintendo Switch 2, a whole new swarm of chooms are able to jump into Night City and enjoy the best-selling game.

Some new features are pulling in players, such as mouse control for aiming, and the motion control options viable through the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy Cons.

There is one other feature, that has been a staple within every other release of Cyberpunk 2077, that isn’t being shouted from the neon rooftops, and it applies to every player.

CD Projekt Red allows for cross-save progression over all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

This means that if you started the game on the Xbox Series X, but wanted to experience the game portably, or play it in bed, then you can access your save file on the Switch 2 version.

Of course, you’re going to have a different experience visually, but for those who own multiple platforms, this is a great way to spread your play hours out, and get stuck in while away from your PC or other consoles.

The developer took to Twitter to give cross-progression a shout-out, saying, “[With] Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, you don't have to start your cyberpunk career from scratch. Unless you want to, that is!”

While this has been an option for some time, many players weren’t aware, and several have appeared in the comments and replies thanking CD Projekt Red for pointing it out.

“So, from PC to Switch 2? For real? I might actually buy a Switch 2 now,” said one Twitter user.

It’s a really handy feature, and one I took advantage of myself, when I first started out on the Switch 2, bringing over my PC save of only a couple of hours. It works brilliantly.
