The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a marvel of the industry, and even when it’s replaced by The Elder Scrolls VI, I’m sure it’ll still have its fans.
I believe that even more when I see things like a fan-made Skyrim remaster, using the latest and greatest mods to completely overhaul the game.
Take a look at a video by NextGen Dreams, for example, which boasts an impressive remake of Skyrim running at 4K with loads of mods installed. You can find the full modlist in the video’s description as well if you want to try and recreate it on your own PC.

Should go without saying but Xbox and PlayStation fans will unfortunately be unable to get their game looking this good as mod support just isn’t the same on console.
Nevertheless, it looks extraordinary, and the gameplay of the player’s Dragonborn taking a stroll through the various in-game locations almost makes it look like a completely different game. Also featured is gameplay of the player fighting things, which again looks incredible.
The comments wanted it to be pushed even further too, as one suggested “adding VR and the AI dialogue for NPCs in this equation”.

Another said, “The fact that this is only 200 mods, it's crazy!!!”
The hardware needed to make all of this work needs to be immense but it all seems worth it to play Skyrim in such a way.
It seems likely that The Elder Scrolls VI will look just as good, if not better, due to it taking so many years to be developed, but will it have the same charm as Skyrim did?
That’s the million dollar question, as Bethesda can create a gigantic open-world that looks great, but I’m sure there’ll still be plenty of people that prefer Skyrim’s world over the new kid on the block.
