It doesn't seem that Rockstar Games is releasing an official remaster for Red Dead Redemption 2 anytime soon, but thankfully, a fan has taken matters into their own hands.
With all the hype surrounding the release of GTA VI, it might be easy to forget about Rockstar Games’ other baby, the Red Dead Redemption series.
Who would have thought that when Rockstar Games released Red Dead Revolver, a linear but fun Wild West action game in 2004, that this series would evolve into the goliath that it is today?

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!
For many, both the original Red Dead Redemption, released in 2010, and its prequel, 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2, are amongst some of the best video games of all time, and we totally agree.
Even when being played on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Red Dead Redemption 2 still looks gorgeous today, despite Rockstar Games' apparent reluctance to release a new-gen update.

Thankfully, for PC gamers, they have the ever-vibrant and talented modding community to rely on, and this fan-made remaster of Red Dead Redemption 2 is a thing of beauty.
The mod in question is called ‘Vestigia 2.0’, created by no12, and is available to download for free via NexusMods.
“Vestigia 2.0 is an overhaul of RDR2's visual environment that aims to create a natural-looking, immersive and dynamic environment by rebuilding time cycles, weather systems and graphics details. Changes include a revamped weather system, recreated visuals/timecycles, tonemapping changes, added graphical detail, and much more,” reads the description of the mod.
Sadly, as is the nature of most mods (unlike Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Starfield on Xbox), this Red Dead Redemption 2 mod is a PC exclusive.

For the rest of us, we can at least play Red Dead Redemption 2 as intended on PlayStation and Xbox, and that’s still a blessing.
